Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor wedding: The bride’s veil has that special memory inscribed on it
Actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor made a stunning couple as they married in an intimate ceremony at their residence in Pali Hill, Vastu on Thursday. Adorned with traditional outfits and jewelry, the duo looked at every piece of royalty.
For the ceremony, Other was seen in a heavily embroidered ivory saree by ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She teamed the six yards with a veil of hand-embroidered fabric that enhanced her minimalist look.
Besides the intricate gold work, the veil also had a special memory inscribed on it. Wondering what it is? In a photo shared online by Diet Sabya, you can spot the wedding date – April 14 – inscribed on the veil.
“April 14, 2022,” reads the white embroidered text. Looked.
Adding a personal touch to her wedding attire is surely a wonderful way to preserve the memory of her special day. However, this isn’t the first time B-town brides have chosen to customize their wedding veils.
Earlier, Deepika Padukone, who wore a red Sabyasachi lehenga for her wedding to Ranveer Singh, sported a embroidered veil which had the beautiful Sanskrit mantra, ‘Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava‘ embroidered on it. It roughly translates to – “may you always stay married”.
Patralekhaa, who married Rajkummar Rao in November 2021, chose to declare his love for Rajkummar with a Bengali verse written on her embroidered veil. He said : “Amar poran bhora bhalobasha aami tomay shomorpon korilam“.
Katrina Kaif, meanwhile, paid tribute to the Punjabi roots of the beautiful Vicky Kaushal with her veil which has been custom-cut by hand kiran in hand-hammered silver and gold-plated.
