Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa and David Bowie are Madame Tussauds Waxworks – Footwear News
Madame Tussauds is back with new wax figures of pop stars. The museum unveiled new wax works by Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa and David Bowie today in London. The place has a “Music Festival Zone”, where fans have the chance to pose with hitmakers including Rihanna, Beyoncé, Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran and Little Mix.
Grande’s figure wears a sparkling gold mini dress that has a plunging sweetheart neckline and a matching belt in the same fabric with a sparkling silver heart-shaped buckle. The dress also had puffy cap sleeves, and her figure also wears sparkly earrings and an equally sparkly choker.
For Lipa’s figure, the outfit has a sporty-casual vibe that aligns with the typical Puma ambassador style. The statue wears a plunging pink bra with matching fishnet overlay paired with green sweatpants. Underneath the pants, she wore pink underwear that matched the pink and fishnet design of the top. The figurine has accessories like a silver necklace adorned with a shiny pendant.
Bowie’s wax figure was decked out in striped splendour, wearing one of the pop star’s most iconic outfits. Kansai Yamamoto designed the jumpsuit in the 70s. The garment featured red, blue and white stripes and dramatic structured shoulders. It also had a middle zipper and long sleeves for an even fit. As for the shoes, the figure wears red leather platform boots that mimicked the pair Bowie wore during the “Ziggy Stardust” era.
Inspiration for Grande’s figure came from a gold Versace mini dress she posted on Instagram. And Lipa’s outfit idea comes from her performance at Glastonbury in 2017.
