The son of late actor Irrfan Khan, who is set to debut with Netflix’s Qala, explained on his social media platform why he suddenly stopped sharing memories about his father. The aspiring young actor often shared rare photos of his father Irrfan and his private moments with the family, but he stopped doing so a few weeks ago. Regarding this, Babil shared through his Instagram stories the reason why he stopped sharing Irrfan’s memories. He wrote: “For Baba fans who are wondering why I stopped sharing memories of him.”
When an Instagram user asked him “When are you going to share something on Irrfan sir?” Babil responded by saying, “I loved sharing and then I get these Dms all the time saying I use it to promote myself and it really hurts when in fact I was really sharing memories to fill the gap.” empty that he left with his fans. So I don’t really know what to do.
It has been almost a year since Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29 after a two-year battle with cancer.
Babil added that it hurt him when random people told him he was using his memory to gain influence. He said, “I’m trying to figure it out but it really hurts when random people tell me I’m using his memory to gain influence, like I need to, I’m already his son, I never needed to do it except to win anything. Now I’m stumped and a little hurt (to be honest). So I’ll share when I feel it’s the right time.
Qala is directed by Anvitaa Dutt and stars Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee and Babil. It is funded by Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Sharma’s production house, Clean Slate Films.
