Babil, son of Irrfan Khan, on media at Filmfare Awards: ‘They asked me if I was high’
Irrfan Khan’s son Babil said on Sunday he was upset by the behavior of some reporters at the Filmfare Awards night, who allegedly asked him if he was intoxicated. Babil attended the 2021 Filmfare Awards on Saturday night and accepted the posthumous honor given to his late father.
Babil wrote about the alleged incident on his Instagram Story. The aspiring actor wrote that he marveled at the “curious research” of the “seven journalists,” who apparently asked him if he was high.
“I just wanted to share with you everything I attended at the Filmfare Awards yesterday and 7 reporters asked me if I was high just because of the shape of my eyes. Well played guys. Great curious research that you have done because I have been purely natural since I left college. Really good job, ”read a section of Babil’s Instagram story.
“You made me feel so good by telling me that my natural face looked like it was stoned.” Thank you very much for that. I will use this look and make millions in Bollywood, ”Babil said.
The Filmfare Awards night was Babil’s first appearance at a major Bollywood event. Hours before her arrival on the red carpet, Babil documented her preparation for the big night, sharing videos and a photo of her hairstyle and researching the feature. Among those photos was an adorable photo of himself with his mother Sutapa as they took a selfie before he left for the event. Babil wore the Irrfan outfit for the evening.
Irrfan was named winner in two categories – Best Actor (Male) for Angrezi Medium and Lifetime Achievement Award. Sharing his feelings on his father’s victory, Babil wrote on Instagram: “Thank you, Filmfare. Even after he left, you recognized his commitment to his profession. As a family, we are very grateful. The post was accompanied by a photo of the Filmfare trophies adorning Irrfan’s shelf.
Sutapa Sikdar also shared the photo, remembering Irrfan’s contribution to art and his humility. “What a beautiful night !! You prove once again that you don’t have to talk about your job. People should,” she wrote.
