Best Spider-Man No Way Home Fan Theories: Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield Returns, Fake Trailer & More

[ad_1]

The movie is slated to be a mini Avengers movie with multiple MCU characters. On top of that, characters from previous Spider-Man franchises with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will also appear thanks to the multiverse that’s now a reality. Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise the role of Doctor Strange.

Understandably, being an MCU movie, the movie and its trailer spawned several fan theories. Here are a few of them.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be part of the film

That’s the biggest theory (and hope) regarding the film, that previous actors in Live-action Spider-Man will reprise the role in No Way Home. Many fans claim to have spotted both Spider-Man in the trailer before, no matter how hard the creators tried to hide it. There are two flashes of light in at least two different instances of the trailer that fans believe are proof of Maguire and Garfield’s presence. There’s no reason the two Spider-Mans can’t be in No Way Home as the multiverse is wide open in the MCU and a number of “realities” are there for manufacturers to tap into. However, if the two actors are really going to be in the movie, it’s likely that Sony and Marvel Studios won’t reveal it until the movie is released.

Arrival of villains from other Spider-Verses leads to Sinister Six

It’s confirmed in the trailer that not only Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) and Electro (Jamie Foxx), but Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin will also be in the movie (his pumpkin bomb was seen on a shot). Some fans believed they noticed hints of Sandman and The Lizard as well. All of this, if true, can lead to the formation of a multiversal version of Sinister Six, a group of six Spidey villains who join forces to wreak havoc and be fundamentally infamous themselves.

Everything shown in the trailer is totally wrong

Some think the trailer itself is an elaborate trick. There is a basis for this belief. For example, Doctor Strange is described as a sensible and wise wizard who wouldn’t attempt such a dangerous spell just to allay Peter Parker’s fears, especially when the magic involved can have huge ramifications.

Matt Murdock Daredevil is in the trailer

Many have noticed the arm of what appeared to be a lawyer in the trailer when Peter is asked about his alleged involvement in Mysterio’s death. Fans said the trailer showed one investigator, but not the other. There has been no official announcement regarding Charlie Cox’s return as the Netflix-Marvel series, but surprises are rarely officially announced.
