Directed by Razneesh Ghai, Dhaakad will feature Kangana Ranaut in an action-packed avatar. The actor, who promises the film will be “ something spectacular, ” called Dhaakad a benchmark in his career.

“Dhaakad is not only a benchmark film for my career, but will also be a turning point for Indian cinema. The film has gone up on a large scale and is one of the female-directed action films, ”she said in a statement.

Written by Chintan Gandhi and Rinish Ravindra, the action thriller is jointly produced by Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum Films and co-produced by Qyuki Digital Media. The film also marks screenwriter Ritesh Shah’s first collaboration with Kangana Ranaut.



Tejas sees Kangana Ranaut playing an Air Force pilot. The actor, who earlier said she was “fascinated by the armed forces since she was a child,” called working in the film an honor.

Kangana said in a statement: “Very often the sacrifices made by our brave women in uniform go unnoticed in the nation. Tejas is a film in which I have the honor of playing the role of such an Air Force pilot who puts the country before oneself. I hope we instill a sense of patriotism and pride in today’s youth with this film.

Tejas is funded by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP. The film marks Sarvesh Mewara’s directorial debut.

A film about Indira Gandhi

Kangana will play former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in a political drama directed by Sai Kabir. The nationally awarded actor confirmed the news but said the film was not a biopic but a period film that would cover important moments in Indian political history, including Operation Blue Star and The Emergency. .

“Yes, we are working on the project and the script is in the final stages. This is not Indira Gandhi’s biopic. It’s a great period film. To be precise, it is a political drama that will help my generation understand (the) socio-political landscape of India today, ”the actor said in a statement.

The manufacturers have not yet announced any news on the project.

Return of Manikarnika: The Legend of Didda

Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda is based on the historic Queen of Kashmir Didda, the first female monarch of the Kashmir Valley. The film, which marks the second installment of the Manikarnika franchise, is slated for release in January 2022.

The first film Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi was based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai. It starred Kangana Ranaut and marked the actor’s debut as a filmmaker.

Thalaivi traces the journey of veteran actor-politician Jayalalithaa as an actor and politician. The film, which stars Kangana in the lead role, will also star Prakash Raj, Arvind Swami, Jisshu Sengupta and Madhoo in key roles.

Director AL Vijay will be released on April 23, 2021.
