Here is your exclusive first look at Hermès’ new nail polish line

With its silks, Birkins and French workshops that can make almost anything to measure, the Hermès house is famous for its enamel accessories. So it makes sense that the next chapter in her beauty book, following last year’s iconic lipstick and blush launches, will be rich nail polish.
The house brings the same attention to detail to its varnishes as to everything it creates: Each of the 24 shades contains ultra-fine bio-based pigments and requires only one coat. The collection also includes a base and topcoat, as well as hand care and tools such as nail brushes that are reminiscent of the brand’s equestrian heritage.
“For Hermès, the hands are like the face, because everything [in our métiers] is handmade, ”says Agnès de Villers, Managing Director of Hermès Beauté et Parfums. The color gamut was built by a collective comprising in-house leather and silk colorists; Pierre Hardy, who helped design the packaging; and longtime artistic director of Hermès, Pierre-Alexis Dumas.
The hand care collection is endorsed by the artisans of Hermès, explains de Villers, who tested the formulas. But it might be the collection’s simple nail file, branded and crafted from poplar wood in the Orange Box color, that is sure to become the next status symbol. “At the beginning, we asked ourselves: ‘Should we make a nail file at Hermès? How are you?’ Says de Villers. “But yes, it is necessary. Let’s go for that. “
The 24 Shade Nail Care Line will be available October 15 at hermes.com. It is only enough time to plan your Hermès fall manicure.
