Dr. Jill Biden brought a sharp approach to transitional seasonal clothing while remaining optimistic for spring after a weekend in Delaware, the president’s home state.

The first lady left Marine One in Washington, DC with President Biden wearing a dark green midi dress by Tanya Taylor. The long-sleeved piece, from Taylor’s Fall 2022 collection, featured an allover grey, yellow and white floral print, giving it a light touch of detail. Biden’s look was easily finished with a beige cashmere scarf and gold and black aviator sunglasses.

For footwear, Biden kept warm from the winter chill in a pair of suede boots. The light brown style featured knee-length uppers and almond-shaped toes. The style also appeared to include block heels totaling at least 2 inches in height, as well as slight stitching down the front. Biden’s boots were layered smoothly with her midi dress, a nifty style trick during cooler seasons. The style gave it a clean look, while remaining practical and chic.

Suede boots are always a popular cold weather trend, due to their full coverage and generally soft texture. Pairs like Biden’s are particularly versatile for layering and wearing with a variety of ensembles. Biden isn’t the only star taking an interest in style this season; stars like Karlie Kloss, Adele and Paris Hilton have also worn pairs from Manolo Blahnik, Stuart Weitzman and Saint Laurent in recent weeks. Biden has also been seen in similar boots throughout the fall and winter seasons in hues of black, gray and olive green.

When it comes to shoes, Biden’s choices are classic and chic. The first lady regularly wears versatile pumps in nude and black tones from brands such as Dior, Valentino and Stuart Weitzman. Color-coordinated heels are also a staple for her brighter ensembles, from brands like Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik. During the warmer months, she can also be seen in espadrille wedge sandals by Loeffler Randall.
