Lily Collins, Finneas and more celebrate Cartier shock [Un]Limited collection
Cartier kicked off the launch of its Clash [Un]limited capsule collection last night in West Hollywood with glitzy rooftop dinner and private tour of The Clash [Un]Limited exposure. The creative project was carried out in collaboration with singer-songwriter Finneas, who provided musical entertainment for the evening. “Clash represents the opportunity to redefine and rediscover what touches me most about art,” Finneas said of his performance. “In creating this piece, my intention was to create something that flows seamlessly between the different soundscapes that have inspired me the most throughout my life. The power of a delicate piano, the aggressiveness of an overdrive guitar and the pulsating heartbeat of an electric dance floor.
Shock [Un]The limited exhibition is an immersive experience: viewers can explore the inner workings of the legendary French jeweler as well as the extraordinary craftsmanship required to bring his pieces to life. The dreamlike setting is a surreal ode to Cartier’s iconic flagship on Place Vendôme in Paris.
Shock [Un]The limited collection plays with extremes in both material and silhouette and seeks to challenge the standard conventions of fine jewelry and fine watchmaking. With its deceptively simple strand of studs and pearls, the Clash design is both sophisticated and daring. Stroll through the winding corridors of the exhibition and earrings, bracelets and rings in a white gold and amethyst shagreen setting will delight the eyes, accompanied by a superb reversible necklace in white gold, onyx and diamonds. Other must-have pieces on display include conical onyx rings with diamond encrustation, studded bracelets and an aptly named “mitten” watch in rose gold mesh and diamonds.
Brand ambassadors Lily Collins and Ella Balinska, actor Dan Levy and the ever-fabulous Kathy and Nicky Hilton dined on canapes and sipped personalized cocktails from Michelin-starred chef Curtis Stone. The evening ended with a tour of decadent desserts from pastry chef Chris Ford, who took inspiration from the Clash collection to create dark chocolate spike domes filled with matte silver mini macaroons.
Shock [Un]limited capsules will be available for sale when the exhibit opens to the public on August 25. The exhibit is located at 8552 Melrose Avenue and will run from August 25 to September 1.
