Naseeruddin Shah released from hospital, son Vivaan shares photos
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who was admitted to a hospital here for treatment for pneumonia, was released on Wednesday morning, his son and actor Vivaan Shah said.
The 70-year-old actor was admitted to PD Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Center in Khar, a non-COVID-19 facility last Tuesday.
“Coming Home,” Vivaan Shah captioned the photo of her father and mother actor Ratna Pathak Shah on her Instagram story.
“He was just released today morning,” he wrote in the next story.
On July 3, a hospital source said Naseeruddin Shah was responding well to treatment.
“He’s stable and under observation. He is taking medication and everything is fine, ”the insider told PTI.
Last week, Ratna Pathak Shah told PTI the veteran actor had a “small patch” of pneumonia in his lungs and was undergoing hospital treatment for the same.
Over the course of his 46-year career, multi-award-winning actor Naseeruddin Shah is known for his immense contribution to parallel and mainstream cinema, as well as his memorable work in television and theater.
Some of the credits from his legendary filmography include titles like Nishant, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Mirch Masala, Ijaazat, Masoom, Karma, Vishwatma, Mohra, Sarfarosh, The Dirty Picture, Krrish, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, among others.
A former student of the National School of Drama (NSD) and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) was last seen in the 2020 drama Mee Raqsam and the popular Amazon Prime Video Bandish Bandits series.
Naseeruddin Shah was admitted to the same medical facility as the screen icon and his Karma co-star Dilip Kumar, who died of prolonged illness on Wednesday.
