On the occasion of Rhea Chakraborty’s birthday, here is a look at her MTV Teen Diva days

Model actress Rhea Chakraborty is now one year older. While making the news last year due to her relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput, the young actress has made her mark in films like Jalebi, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Sonali Cable and Bank Chor. However, not many people know that before heading to Bollywood, she began her journey as a candidate for MTV Teen Diva.

Rhea came in second, with Apeksha Porwal winning the title. However, given her pretty face, chatty nature, and charming personality, she was chosen as the VJ by the channel. As the youngest VJ on MTV, she hosted shows like Pepsi MTV Wassup, Gone in 60 Seconds and Tic-Tac College Beat. In an interview a decade ago, Rhea had explained how she would take her books to her sets, while she was pursuing her studies simultaneously.

Today, as she celebrates her 29th birthday, here is a look back on her journey as “Teen Diva”, then as VJ MTV.
