Chunky sneakers were popularized in the 1980s for their practicality, comfort, and stability. Although the popularity of the sneaker style slowed in the 2000s, chunky sneakers re-emerged as part of the “ugly” shoe split trend in the late 2010s, attracting attention across all genres.
Pharrell Williams has also made a name for himself in the fashion industry, having starred in campaigns for brands like Chanel, Adidas and G-Star Raw.
