But it wasn’t just any rose. Piccioli collaborated with the Pantone Color Institute to create a custom pink shade that is now called “Pink PP”, named after the designer. According to the brand’s official Instagram account, “All the endless possibilities, wrapped up in one shade.”
Not only did the brand change its Instagram profile picture to a pink Valentino logo and paint its social media feed pink, but parts of Paris were also treated like a canvas as the collection’s name flashed across surfaces. through the city. The show itself took place at the Carreau du Temple.
Additionally, to crystallize the intent of the collection into words, novelist and visual artist Douglas Coupland wrote special passages that culminated in an exclusive booklet as an invitation to the exhibition.
The designer’s goal behind narrowing the palette down to a single bright, energetic pink – which is “the color of love, community, energy and freedom” – was to eradicate commitment visual with color to invite the eye, all eyes, onto the craftsmanship, detail and individuality of each design, unpacking the many possibilities of a monochrome collection.
