Postal delays during COVID-19 crisis update – Tikiboo

Just a quick update as we are inundated with emails saying the post is taking longer than usual to arrive.

We are so lucky that many of our customers have watched the video we made on Facebook and that Royal Mail is currently behind on their deliveries. We thank each of you for your patience.

We are currently operating with less staff than usual as we stick to social distancing within our warehouse, however, we are three times as busy as we normally are at this time of year. We always manage to ship out within 1-3 business days (mostly 1-2), due to our working and weekend shifts.

Over the weekend our customer service team responded to around 100 similar emails all asking where your package is, the point is we are in a global crisis and even though we have packed and processed your order within 1-2 days Royal Mail is extremely understaffed. Online retail sales have grown significantly since the stores closed, which means people rely on the postal system to get orders. If the postal system is operating with 30% staff and post levels have increased, it will create a huge backlog.

Unfortunately we have no way of knowing how long your order will take, the postal system is operating at unprecedented times and doing its best. Some items take twice as long to arrive than the deadlines announced by the royal couriers. It’s really out of our hands and we’re sorry, but we’re doing our best. Some items take 3 weeks to arrive, please allow sufficient time to run as we are unable to locate packages, please allow Royal Mail the extra time to get your package to you.

This also goes for returns, if things take longer to reach you, it will also take longer to reach us. We process returns twice a week, a Tuesday and a Friday as these are the only days our collection center is open. All items we receive are processed on those days, but please allow extra time for your returns to reach us.

Also always check the shipping address, we have had higher than normal from customers who accidentally put the wrong shipping address. Please make sure all details are checked carefully before pressing payment.
