Sophie Turner dyed her blonde hair red again

Sophie Turner spent years as a blonde after going redhead for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of thrones. But the actress turned red again at the start of the summer, she revealed on her Instagram. Turner shared an Instagram mirror selfie of herself with her red locks, tagging Olivia Rodrigo for wearing Rodrigo’s Sour shirt. (The $ 30 crop top Turner wore is sold out, unsurprisingly.)

Turner likely dyed his hair for new role in true HBO Max crime series The staircase. Turner’s involvement in the project was announced last week. She will play Margaret Ratliff, one of the adopted daughters of Michael Peterson (Colin Firth), in a series about her family in North Carolina and the “suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen (Toni Collette)”, by Deadline.

Turner spoke to ELLE.com in 2018 about going from blonde to red; she had to dye her hair red every week for Game of thrones, she confirmed.

“Now I wear a wig, because I love my blonde so much. I started wearing a wig in season seven because I dyed my hair blonde, and it wasn’t the best experience, so we couldn’t really dye my hair red, “Turner said.” I started using [hairstylist and global ambassador for Wella Professionals] Sonya [Dove], and I started using WellaPlex, so my hair was actually healthy enough to dye it red for the new X Men. Then I just wanted to go blonde again, because Sonya did such a good job. So I was like Game of thrones, you will have to wig me!

Turner compared the experience of being a redhead to that of a blonde, saying, “Red is a gorgeous color, but I’ve always wanted to style it one way: classic, waves. I feel so comfortable being blonde and much more like a “cool girl”.
