The plot of the film is being kept under wraps for now, but the cast and the creative team are already turning us on. Adding to that, the gorgeous location already makes us yearn for the movie.

Earlier today, Babil took his Instagram handle and shared that he completed the first program from his first film. He later shared another article with the first teaser. In his caption, he praised his co-star Tripti Dimri.

He wrote: “Creepy tripti Dimri is back !!!!!! Whooooooo !!! (and a bit of me ❤️) Also, I’m a little skeptical of the phrase “ go for it ” as the audience should be getting up from their seats watching our movie and not an individual actor. “From the makers of Bulbbul, Clean Slate Filmz and Anvita Dutt, we bring you #Qala, a Netflix Original film. Qala will be here soon to share her story of her fight for a place in her mother’s heart.

Dutt, who also directed the acclaimed horror thriller Bulbbul for the streamer, said, “Mother-daughter relationships are sacred and often complicated. Qala is a beautiful heartbreaking story about a girl who longs for the love of her mother. I’m delighted to have such amazing actors on board and can’t wait for the world to experience the film with Tripti, Babil and Swastika. It’s always a pleasure to partner with Clean Slate Filmz and Netflix as they believe in bringing thought-provoking stories like Bulbbul and now Qala to life. “

We are excited to reunite them for Qala and once again tell the complex story of a woman who we hope will resonate with many. We’re also delighted that the very talented Tripti Dimri is back on Netflix, this time with the up-and-coming Babil I. Khan, the latest addition to the growing Netflix family.
