Varun Dhawan takes on Instagram user who asked him not to show his privilege: ‘I lost people to Covid’
After completing Arunachal Pradesh’s schedule for his next horror film Bhediya, Varun Dhawan is back in Mumbai. He and his wife Natasha Dalal were spotted at Mumbai airport on Wednesday evening.
At the airport, when paparazzi surrounded the couple for photos, Varun told them to keep the distance as a precaution to ward off Covid-19 infections. He is also seen telling a photographer to wear his mask.
When these videos were posted on various social media platforms, one Instagram user, who thought Varun was coming back from vacation with Natasha, commented, “Stop showing your privilege when people in your country die.”
To this, Varun was quick to clarify that he was returning from his professional mission. “Well, your assumption is wrong. I was shooting my film and not on vacation. And what do you mean “gave them a chance?” How don’t you give them a chance? I have people who have also lost their lives to Covid. So please keep your assumptions to yourself, ”the actor wrote.
Varun Dhawan lost his aunt last year due to complications from Covid-19 in the United States.
On the job front, Varun was last seen at his father’s house, David Dhawan’s director Coolie No.1 with Sara Ali Khan. He will then be seen in Amar Kaushik’s Bhediya with Kriti Sanon, for which he was filming in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh, a city without Covid for more than two months now. The actor also finished Raj Mehta’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo with Kiara Advani and Neetu Kapoor.
