Viola Davis brought a colorful twist to classic costumes. The award-winning actress stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to discuss her role as Michelle Obama in the new drama series “The First Lady.” The TV show, which also stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Dakota Fanning, is an eye-opening reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House. Davis is a producer on the series, which will officially premiere on Showtime on April 17.
Davis made a stirring statement upon her arrival on the late night talk show. The Oscar winner has taken a business casual look to a new level. She wore a bright green velvet suit. The set included a blazer with elegant lapels and structured shoulders. The “How to Get Away With Murder” alum continued to add a pop of color to his outfit by pairing his jacket with a purple collared shirt and matching green corduroy pants.
Davis added an elegant touch to her look with black boots. The silhouette had a leather upper and an elongated pointed toe. A must-have style of women’s footwear, ankle boots are extremely versatile footwear that can feature a variety of heel styles. Boots that stop at the ankle can be practical, dressy and casual.
Davis has captivated fashion lovers with a parade of red carpet looks over the years. She has an affinity for statement earrings, monochromatic moments, bold prints and classic pieces. For footwear, she’ll likely lean towards a peep-toe silhouette, lace-up sandals, platform pumps, sleek sneakers and versatile boots.
