Vuori Performance Jogger Review – Agent Athletica
I have been working from home for 8 months now, and like most people, I have maximized the comfort factor. Towards the start of the pandemic, I bought my first pair of Vuori joggers to see what it was. I now have 3 pairs so you can probably already see where this is going. Here are my detailed thoughts.
I first bought 2 pairs of jogging pants in XS in gray and cherry, but a few months later Vuori added size XXS to their offer, which is usually my favorite size. So, I bought a third pair in black camo to try the XXS. Having tried both sizes, I prefer the smaller one (i.e. my real size) because it looks a bit more refined without sacrificing comfort. The XXS is slightly more fitted at the hips but not at all tight. There is a lot of space to be saved across the leg. I still wear my size XS pairs a lot, but they look a bit more like pajamas.
With that in mind, you can easily increase or decrease a size depending on how you want it to look and feel. If in doubt, I advise you to take your usual size.
The joggers have a functional drawstring and single pockets on each side. The pockets are big enough for my phone and don’t fold up awkwardly. I’m 5’3 ″, and the regular crotch length touches my ankles. I wouldn’t mind if they were an inch shorter, but overall they are fine for the little ones. If you are rather tall, Vuori now offers a long crotch option in some colors. The inside leg of the regular version is 25 ″ and the long is 27.5 ″.
In addition to working from home, I lived in these on a weeklong camping trip to southwest Colorado this summer. I literally slept in it. This trip was the inspiration for this outfit: I almost exactly wore this outfit almost every day around camp. Although they’re basically sweatpants, they’re cute enough to wear for runs. Technically they’re made from a performance fabric, but I don’t usually wear loose pants for my workouts. If I had to exercise, it would probably be hiking, strength training, or yoga.
The fabric is, as advertised, CRAZY soft. These joggers really live up to its claims of being outrageously comfortable. The fabric is medium weight and smooth but still soft and plush. The closest comparison is Alala’s heathered performance material or a lightweight version of lululemon’s rulu. On my older pair, I noticed a slight ooze on the buttocks. It is not a complete pilling and is not visible to the eye, so it does not make them look old and dirty. But if you run your hand over the area, you can feel the difference in texture. Having said that, I wore them a lot-probably once a week for 7 or 8 months – so I’m not surprised that the fabric is starting to wear out slightly.
At $ 84, the price is very reasonable for a high-end sports product. This is a bit lower than the comparable styles of Lululemon and Athleta. Plus, if you sign up for Vuori emails, you can get 20% off your first order, which brings the price down to $ 67.20. Vuori joggers can be purchased directly from the Vuori website, or they are also stocked at Nordstrom and REI.
